Amina Muaddi

2025

Amina Muaddi’s journey, as founder and creative director of her namesake luxury accessories brand, is as inspiring as her creations. Her Jordanian and Romanian heritage deeply influences her work, infusing it with a sophisticated, international flair.

The unique combination of her traditional training and avant-garde taste has made Amina Muaddi an iconic figure in the fashion industry.

Her line of accessories, entirely made in Italy, blends artisanal craftsmanship and footwear expertise with a boldly international fashion vision.

The brand has achieved cult status thanks to its signature pyramid heels, sculptural silhouettes, innovative marketing approach, and disruptive sales strategy.

Born in Romania to a Jordanian father and Romanian mother, Amina Muaddi spent her childhood in Jordan before returning to Romania and later settling in Italy, where she completed her studies and enrolled in a fashion university in Milan.

She then worked as a stylist for magazines such as L’Uomo Vogue and GQ US in New York.

But it was during her time in the Riviera del Brenta—Italy’s historic footwear region—that she discovered her passion for shoemaking. Working alongside renowned artisans and suppliers, she oversaw the development of every component of her shoes.

In 2012, Amina co-founded her first footwear brand, Oscar Tiye, in Milan. She left the venture in 2017 and moved to Paris. Her bold silhouettes found international success, leading to a collaboration with French couturier Alexandre Vauthier, for whom she designed footwear collections for five years, presented each season during Paris Haute Couture Week.

In 2018, she found the creative freedom and momentum to design a new, now-iconic heel—instantly recognizable—and launched her own brand. Initially presented at ten hand-picked retailers including Bergdorf Goodman, Net-a-Porter, and Harrods, the collection sold out completely on its first day.

In 2019, Rihanna approached Amina Muaddi to design footwear for her brand Fenty, launched under LVMH in July 2020. Their creative partnership earned the Collaboration of the Year award from Footwear News. In 2023, Amina received the Neiman Marcus Award for Innovation in the Field of Fashion.

Her collaborations with Wolford, AWGE (the creative agency founded by A$AP Rocky), and notable appearances of her designs in cult series such as Euphoria and Insecure on HBO have cemented her influence in both the fashion industry and contemporary pop culture.
