Ayham Hassan is a Palestinian fashion designer based between London and Ramallah, whose work is deeply rooted in personal experiences growing up in the West Bank. Through a critical and analytical approach, Ayham challenges and reshapes reality by drawing inspiration from the evolving social customs and rich cultural heritage of his city.

His design practice focuses on exploring traditional Palestinian craftsmanship, with a special emphasis on tailoring, textiles, and draping. Collaborating closely with local artisans, Ayham integrates their time-honored techniques into his creative and production processes. This commitment not only preserves invaluable Palestinian craft traditions but also aims to enhance the sustainability and independence of the region’s fashion industry amidst a rapidly changing world.

As a recent graduate from Central Saint Martins, Ayham’s evolving process embraces cultural exploration and innovation within available resources, using fashion as a medium to tell stories of resilience, healing, and identity. His aesthetic is marked by a raw, visceral, and earthy quality—reflecting the realities of growing up under Israeli military occupation, where fashion becomes both a form of self-expression and protection.

Firmly believing in the transformative power of design, Ayham seeks to disrupt conventional narratives and provoke critical reflection on social issues facing Palestinian and Arab societies. By blending traditional craftsmanship with innovative and sustainable production methods, he strives to elevate Palestinian design on the global stage and champion the visibility of Palestinian identity in the international fashion industry.
