Fabio Piras studied at Central Saint Martin’s for a BA in fashion design (1991), followed by an MA in womenswear (1993). He went on to found his eponymous label that showed during London Fashion Week from 1994 until 2000. He has also had a successful career in both creative direction and consultancy for luxury fashion brands in Europe and Asia.

In 1998 Diego Della Valle invited him to collaborate on creative supervision for his collections TOD’S, HOGAN and FAY. In 2000 BRIONI appointed him Creative Director of the tailoring house and gave him the mission to initiate Brioni Donna.

In 2005 Fabio joined knitwear brand MALO as Creative Director. Two years later Fabio took over the creative direction of the womenswear brand GIADA owned by the Chinese group Redstone. He was appointed Director of Central Saint Martin’s MA Fashion course following the untimely passing of the late Professor Louise Wilson OBE in 2014. Fabio’s vision during his time as course leader is to shape a new era for MA Fashion education.
