Gaia Repossi was born in 1986 in Turin, Italy. Surrounded by her father’s experience and passion for creating artistic jewelry pieces, she developed an unconditional love for drawing and painting. She studied painting at the Beaux Arts of Paris, and obtained a Master degree in archeology. During her studies, Gaia gradually entered the world of Repossi. In 2007, at the age of 21, Gaia was appointed creative and artistic director of the house. The same house her grandfather founded in 1952. Her references come from her passion for contemporary art and the effects of metal within modern sculpture and architecture. She takes inspiration from the works of Alexander Calder, Cy Twombly, Franz West and Le Corbusier, and from the Brutalist, Minimalist and Bauhaus movements. Blending and pushing the boundaries between architecture and traditional high jewelry techniques, Gaia’s designs are characterized by modern, minimalist motifs and the innovative use of complex patterns. In 2010, she launched the BerbeÌre Collection, which would become a groundbreaking hit for the house of Repossi, establishing it as an influential presence within the fashion industry and the high jewelry world. She launched her successful Antifer line in 2014. The Serti Sur Vide collection is her signature collection of floating diamonds that led her into becoming one of the most notorious Jewelry designers of the moment.
Gaia also collaborated with well-known photographers such as David Sims, Juergen Teller and Glen Luchford and many more to develop the image of her collections. She recently collaborated closely with the Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation to launch a limited edition Tribute Collection. The house is now part of the Luxury group lvmh since 2019. Gaia Repossi collaborated with the Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation to create the Repossi/Mapplethorpe tribute collection inspired from the iconic jewelry and artworks of the artist in 202, shot by the photographer Collier Schorr. The Limited Edition tribute collection was shown at Gagosian New York, in May 2021. Gaia Repossi collaborated with The Judd Foundation and Flavin Judd to design the new concept of the iconic Repossi Monte Carlo flagship store in 2021. She then followed a series of collaboration with notorious artists for the image of the brand such as Roe Ethridge in 2024 for the launch of the Metric ring, a ring with engraved text and poetry by the poet & writer Lucy Kumara Moore and the Peter Miles (historic art director of Repossi).
