Rachid is a distinguished business leader and former Minister of Trade, Industry & Investment for Egypt. He established Alsara Investment Group, which strategically invests in companies within creative industries across the United States, Europe, and the Middle East, with an emphasis on luxury, wellness, design, innovation, and technology.

In addition to founding Alsara, Rachid serves as Chairman of Valentino and Balmain, two premier luxury fashion houses globally.

He also holds the position of Vice Chairman at Lipton, the largest global tea company, and is the CEO of Mayhoola for Investment. Additionally, he is a Board Member of the Katara Hospitality Group.

Rachid has served as President of Unilever North Africa, Middle East, and Turkey, and as a Member of Unilever’s Board of Directors.

Rachid possesses degrees from the University of Alexandria and Harvard Business School.

He has been awarded the Cavaliere di Gran Croce, Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana, which is the highest Order of Merit in Italy.
