Reem Acra is a globally celebrated couturier known for her opulent bridal and eveningwear collections that merge timeless craftsmanship with modern sophistication. Since launching her namesake label, Reem Acra New York, in 1997, she has established a distinct voice in fashion; one that blends intricate embroidery, luxurious fabrics, and refined silhouettes. Her Ready to Wear line, introduced in 2003, expanded her reach to the red carpet and international stage, solidifying her reputation as a designer for the world’s most powerful and glamorous women.

Of Lebanese heritage, Acra studied business at the American University of Beirut before pursuing fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York and the prestigious École Supérieure des Arts et Techniques de la Mode (ESMOD) in Paris. Her multicultural background and cross-disciplinary training inform a deeply considered design philosophy, one rooted in tradition but executed with a modern point of view.

Acra’s designs have been worn by icons including Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, and Angelina Jolie, and her work has been featured at the Oscars, Grammys, Golden Globes, and Met Gala. She has also dressed First Ladies of the United States, including Melania Trump, Jill Biden, whose public appearances have called for the kind of polished restraint and quiet power that Acra’s work consistently delivers.

Reem Acra’s achievements have been recognized internationally. She was named the “7th Most Powerful Arab Woman in the World” by Forbes Magazine, which includes the likes of Amal Clooney, Nemat Shafik, and Zaha Hadid. In 2025, she received the Takreem America Award for Cultural Excellence. Past accolades include the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, the Building Bridges Award from the Bridges of Understanding Foundation, and an honorary award from the United Nations General Assembly for her advocacy work.

A member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, the Bridal Council, and the International Advisory Council of the American University of Beirut, Acra is deeply committed to education and cultural dialogue. She also serves on the Honorary Board of the American Foundation for Saint George Hospital and, since 2019, has been a Goodwill Ambassador for Tamanna, a nonprofit that fulfills the wishes of critically ill children in the Middle East. She brought her mentorship to a broader audience as the lead judge and mentor on the hugely successful Middle Eastern reality series Fashion Star, where she guided emerging designers for four consecutive years.

With every collection, Reem Acra continues to elevate the language of couture; honoring heritage, embracing modernity, and dressing women who lead with grace, strength, and timeless elegance.
