Arnaud Vaillant & Sébastien Meyer
2025
Sébastien grew up in the South of France. He went to a military school, which was his first memory and inspiration in terms of garments.
Arnaud grew up in Sanary-sur-Mer in a family full of doctors. He has been passionate about mathematics and fashion since his youngest age.
The duo met each other ten years ago at their Parisian fashion school. It was love at first sight, both personally and professionally.
Sébastien studied Fashion Design and Pattern Making, while Arnaud studied Fashion Business and Management. Their complementarity is fundamental. They believe that working in this industry, which is both creative and technical, requires both magic and pragmatism. After five years at Balenciaga and Chanel for Arnaud and many design projects for Sébastien, they fulfilled their dream by launching their own brand.
Coperni won ANDAM’s Creative Label Prize in 2014 - a recognition for the label’s creative and commercial potential, and was also a finalist for the LVMH Prize in 2015.
Arnaud and Sébastien were appointed Creative Directors of the historic French brand Courrèges the same year. They brought the brand back to the front of the fashion scene through innovation and keynote presentations, with significant press coverage and a presence in more than 100 key retailers.
After more than two years at Courrèges, they left the brand to live new adventures in 2017. The relaunch of Coperni in 2018 is the main pillar of their research into fashion, society and innovation.
