A true fashion icon, the formidable and flamboyant French fashion editor, consultant and photographer Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele has one of the most recognizable style signatures in the industry.

Born to a Countess, Anne-Marie Errembault de Dudzeele, and raised in St. Tropez, Cerf de Dudzeele moved to Paris as a teenager.

After forging a name for herself at French ELLE as FASHION EDITOR, Cerf de Dudzeele moved to New York City in 1985 to become FASHION DIRECTOR OF SPECIAL PROJECTS for Vogue and WAS NAMED FASHION DIRECTOR WHEN ANNA WINTOUR BECAME EDITOR IN CHIEF. Cerf immediately made her mark on American Vogue with the iconic cover she styled for Wintour’s first issue in November, 1988, mixing an haute couture jacket with her own jeans, a revolutionary look that became the leitmotif of Cerf's idiosyncratic, widely-copied style.

At Vogue, Cerf worked closely with photographers IRVING PENN, Richard Avedon, STEVEN MEISEL, Peter Lindbergh MARIO TESTINO, and PATRICK DEMARCHELIER, creating many of the magazine’s most iconic images.

Over the course of four decades in fashion, Cerf de Dudzeele's trademark melange of high fashion, street wear, and glamorous jewelry has appeared in thousands of magazine editorials, advertisements, and on international runways. Her instantly recognizable signature is always a personal response to the powerful, sophisticated models at the center of her colorful, glamorous, feel-good stories and on her Instagram feed (@carlynercerfdedudzeele #CerfStyle #CCD)

‘Carlyne Cerf is an eccentric (so they say), a classic in disguise.’ – Karl Lagerfeld
