Entrepreneur, Strategic Investor and Philanthropist
Carmen Busquets is a Venezuelan entrepreneur, strategic investor and philanthropist whose career in the luxury fashion industry spans over three decades. She was the co-founder and largest individual private shareholder of Net-a-Porter, and her other notable investments have included Farfetch, Astley Clarke, Lyst, Pamono, Artspace, BoF and Cult Beauty, where she was also appointed Chairperson of the Board of Directors.
From founding the avant-garde luxury fashion boutique Cabus in Caracas in 1990, through launching CoutureLab – a boutique, e-commerce and content platform that promoted fashiontranscending trends and one-off and limited edition handcrafted pieces – in 2006, right up to the present day, Carmen has always valued artisan craftsmanship and cultural heritage as much as innovative technologies.
carmenbusquets.com is Carmen's current investment and philanthropic vehicle, a natural continuation of her commitment to experiment and challenge existing ideas. This investment repertoire includes tech-driven venture capital funds such as Imaginary, Felix Susa Ventures, Kindred and Giano Capital as well as innovative and disruptive online B2B businesses Wishi, Flowerbx and TAGWALK.
As part of her mission to expand fashion-tech’s potential to advance sustainable development in the luxury fashion industry she is a consultant and strategic investor to Osomtex which focuses on textile recycling and is the co-founder investor of new platforms THE FLOORR and PSYKHE AI to support the internet’s transition to Web3.
In addition to her investments, 2025 also saw the launch of the Carmen Busquets Foundation to advance fashion as a force for sustainable development, with a focus on craftsmanship, couture, circularity, inclusivity and cultural impact. Rooted in Carmen’s lifelong dedication to fashion, the foundation will support and empower visionary creatives through a series of meaningful prizes. Carmen will continue to support humanitarian and environmental non profit organizations such as Glasswing International and WWF through personal donations, however the Foundation’s core mission is to build a unique and lasting legacy where fashion, craftsmanship, and cultural expression are recognized and rewarded as essential agents of change.
