Born in Montreal to a Turkish father and British mother, Erdem Moralioglu is the Creative Director and founder of ERDEM, a renowned British fashion house. Graduating with an MA from London’s Royal College of Art in 2003, his first womenswear collection debuted in 2006 and quickly gained recognition for its poetic and modern approach to femininity.
ERDEM has received international recognition and a number of industry accolades, including the 2010 inaugural British Fashion Council/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund Award and the 2014 BFC Womenswear Designer of the Year Award. The house opened its flagship store in Mayfair in 2015, followed by two locations in South Korea in 2024 and 2025. A second London store on Sloane Street is due to open in October 2025. In 2020, Erdem was honoured with an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for his contribution to the fashion industry.
Erdem has shown his collections in a series of historically and culturally significant London locations, including the British Museum, the National Portrait Gallery, Sadler’s Wells, White Cube and the V&A Museum. In 2024, he opened Imaginary Conversations at Chatsworth, an exhibition dedicated to the process of creating the Spring Summer 24 collection and its muse, Duchess Deborah. Pieces from his collections have been exhibited globally at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the V&A Museum in London, and the Palais Galliera and the Louvre Museum in Paris. In October 2025, Rizzoli will publish Erdem Moralioglu’s debut book, ERDEM, a monograph released to mark 20 years of the house.

2003: Erdem Moralioglu graduates with a master’s degree from The Royal College of Art in London.
2005: Erdem founds his namesake label, ERDEM, which is soon stocked in Barneys and Harrods.
2006: Erdem makes his debut on the London Fashion Week schedule.
2009: Erdem participates in The Victoria and Albert Museum’s Fashion in Motion series.
2010: Erdem receives the inaugural British Fashion Council/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund Award.
2014: Erdem receives the British Fashion Council’s Womenswear Designer of the Year Award.
2014: ERDEM.com launches.
2015: ERDEM’s first flagship store opens on South Audley Street, Mayfair.
2015: Erdem receives the British Fashion Council’s Establishment Designer Award.
2017: ERDEM launches a collaboration with H&M accompanied with a short film directed by award-winning director, Baz Luhrmann.
2018: ERDEM collaborates with NARS on a make-up collection entitled ‘Strange Flowers’.
2018: Erdem designs costumes for Corybantic Games, a ballet choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon and performed at the Royal Opera House by The Royal Ballet.
2019: ERDEM featured in The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Camp: Notes on Fashion exhibition in New York.
2020: Erdem receives an MBE for services to the fashion industry as part of the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.
2022: Erdem guest edits A Magazine Curated By, a forensic dissection of Erdem’s world of inspirations and muses.
2022: ERDEM pieces featured in The Palais Galliera’s Frida Kahlo: Beyond Appearances exhibition in Paris.
2023: Erdem designs a collaboration with British heritage brand, Barbour, for the SS24 runway show.
2024: Erdem opens Imaginary Conversations: An ERDEM Collection Inspired by Duchess Deborah, an exhibition at Chatsworth.
2024: ERDEM opens first store outside of London at Shinsegae Gangnam, South Korea.
2025: ERDEM featured in the ‘LOUVRE COUTURE. Art and Fashion: Statement Pieces’ exhibition at the Louvre Museum in Paris.
2025: ERDEM collaborates with British heritage brand, Barbour, on a five piece capsule collection.
